We encounter many problems and adversities in our daily life. We have two choices: we can allow ourself to become overwhelmed by life’s problems or we can develop a brave heart that can happily and courageously overcome difficulties. This will allow us to defeat our feelings of frustration, stress and anger. We can learn to respond to life’s challenges skillfully with acceptance and wisdom. Our problems will become fuel for inner transformation and give us tremendous confidence.
Tuesday's 11th August - 1st September
Everybody experiences fear from time to time, whether it be fear of what people think of us, fear of the future or fear of failure. If our fear becomes extreme, we can feel paralyzed and overwhelmed, unable to make decisions or move forward with our life.
Saturday 15th August
‘When things go wrong in our life and we encounter difficult situations, we tend to regard the sitution itself as our problem, but in reality whatever problems we experience come from the mind. If we were to respond to difficult situations with a positive or peaceful mind they would not be problems for us; indeed, we may even come to regard them as challenges or opportunites for growth and development.’
– Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche
Saturday 22nd August
Nowadays we have so many distractions that it is rare to enjoy even a few moments of mental peace. However, by learning how to train in concentration, we will be able to keep a peaceful, focused, flexible and open mind even during our busiest days. With this new found concentration we will be able to significantly improve our meditation experience and overall inner peace, happiness and well being.
Saturday 29th August
By understanding the mechanics of the mind we can change unhelpful habits that cause us to feel lazy and unfulfilled into ones that motivate and inspire us. Now is the time to create good habits that we can take into the future to help us deal with whatever that may hold.
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak we have temporarily suspended our in-person classes to help with social distancing efforts. During this time our classes and courses are being offered as Livestream events. All events are streamed directly from our peaceful meditation room in Plymouth and are available to anyone in Devon and Cornwall.
The streams will be embedded within our website so you can view them with any device, tablet, phone, smart TV or computer without having to download any additional software or apps. You'll receive an email an hour before the class begins with a link, simply click it and you will be taken directly to the stream page.
About 30 minutes after the class the livestream will be replaced with a video of the class. This video will remain available to watch on-demand for the next 5 days.
