About Us

Kadampa Meditation Center Plymouth provides a quiet and comfortable environment where people can experience inner peace, learn about Modern Buddhism and meditate with a community of people who are all trying to improve the quality of their life, and our world, by improving the quality of their mind.

From our main centre on Mutley Plain in Plymouth we also run meditation classes in Bideford, Brixham, Bude, Camborne, Falmouth, Launceston, Liskeard, Newquay, Redruth, St Austell, Saltash, Torquay, Totnes, and Truro.

Based on the books of the modern day Buddhist teacher, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, we present Buddha’s teachings in an accessible manner that can easily be integrated into our modern lives.

Kadampa Meditation Center Plymouth is a registered charity offering courses, events and retreats on meditation and Modern Buddhism in Britain’s Ocean City and throughout Devon and Cornwall.

Our centre is run entirely by volunteers. Kadampa Meditation Center Plymouth is a member of the New Kadampa Tradition(NKT). The NKT is an International Union of Kadampa Buddhist Centers. There are currently over 1400 Centers worldwide

We offer a programme consisting of a wide variety of topics, ranging from basic meditation techniques suitable for anybody on a drop-in basis through to dedicated retreats on specific aspects of Buddhism.
